You can enjoy world-class entertainment, delicious food, and a magical atmosphere on Disney Cruises. It doesn’t matter if you like Disney characters, classic musicals, or simply wish to relax on a luxurious vacation, a Disney cruise has something for everyone.
As part of the Disney Dream’s Bahamian itinerary, we stopped on Nassau and Disney’s Castaway Cay during our 4 night cruise. Find out if sailing on Disney is worth it in our Disney Dream review.
Dining
The food on Disney cruises is top-notch. It has a variety of restaurants to choose from, all with their own unique menu. You can find everything from classic American fare to international cuisine. Dining on a Disney Cruise is different because they have rotational dining. You dine at a different restaurant every night, but the same servers serve you throughout the trip.
Having the variety of restaurants made going out to dinner fun, with something new always happening. I also like having the same servers every night, especially when traveling with my autistic daughter. The familiar faces and their knowledge of her preferences made dinner time even more enjoyable.
In addition to the main dining rooms, there are Cabanas, the buffet area, Flo’s Cafe, Eye Scream Treats, & Vanellope’s Sweets & Treats. These areas offered meals and snacks throughout the day and were great when we wanted to grab something quick.
Specialty Dining
Aside from the main dining areas, there are two exclusive eateries available. These establishments necessitate an added booking fee, but they provide a more sophisticated dining encounter and are exclusively for grown-ups. Palo is an Italian-themed restaurant that offers both brunch and dinner on specific days.
Remy, on the other hand, is a French restaurant that presents two distinct tasting menus for dinner. We dined at Remy’s and found it to be well worth the additional cost. The quality of the food and the level of service were exceptional; I still reminisce about that meal! This is a multi-course dining experience that is truly unforgettable. If you seek a refined culinary experience and desire a special evening out, I highly recommend making a reservation here!
Entertainment
Disney Cruises provide a diverse range of entertainment choices suitable for individuals of all ages. These options encompass high-quality performances, opportunities for character meet and greets, movie theater and even a mini golf area.
Broadway-Style Shows
A standout feature of every Disney cruise is the inclusion of Broadway-style productions. Each ship boasts a distinctive lineup of shows, with Frozen, Aladdin, and Beauty and the Beast being among the most sought-after performances.
During our cruise, we were fortunate to witness the awe-inspiring Beauty and the Beast show, which undoubtedly ranks as the most exceptional theatrical experience I have ever had at sea.
Furthermore, it is worth noting that all the shows cater to families, ensuring that we could enjoy the theater together. The nightly performances truly left a lasting impression on our cruise journey.
Water Areas on the Ship
The water area found on each Disney cruise vessel provides an excellent opportunity to cool down and experience some amusement. It offers various slides, pools, and splash pads suitable for all age groups. Our children thoroughly enjoyed playing around in the water and riding the AquaDuck waterslide.
Movie Theater
We particularly adored the experience of watching movies in the onboard cinema, as it allowed us to relax during our busy cruise schedule. It’s worth noting that they even screen films that are still being shown in theaters! This is a feature we find lacking on other cruise lines.
Family Fun Activity
Moreover, we absolutely loved the Midship Detective Agency game. It entails an interactive scavenger hunt that guides you throughout the entire ship. To make it more thrilling, we divided our group into two teams to determine which team could complete it the fastest.
Undoubtedly, it became one of our favorite activities onboard. I also appreciate the fact that it’s a family-oriented activity that everyone can enjoy together.
Kids Clubs
Disney cruise kids clubs are unlike any other cruise lines – they are INCREDIBLE! My kids hardly wanted to leave! They have organized activities, areas to use their imaginations, art areas, video games, character meetups, and more. No other line even comes close to these kids clubs at the moment.
Senses Spa and Quiet Cove
I love all the activities that you can do together but I also love that you can have some individual adult time while your kids are having a blast in the kids clubs.
In addition to the beautiful spa, we purchased a Rainforest Day Pass, which included a dry sauna, steam rooms, showers with different smell, water, and lighting experiences, hot tubs, and heated loungers. After a busy day in port, we spent an afternoon in here and it was a great way to unwind.
We also enjoyed spending time in the adults only area of the ship, Quiet Cove. It was a nice way to spend a few hours on the boat, more relaxing than out with tons of people.
Disney’s Castaway Cay
This Disney Dream review wouldn’t be complete without talking about Castaway Cay. Located in the Bahamas, Disney Castaway Cay is a private island that is exclusively available to guests of Disney Cruise Line. A variety of activities and attractions are available at this popular port for both families and couples alike.
Out of all of the private island stops we have made, Castaway Cay is one of our favorites! During our trip, we enjoyed bike riding, swimming with stingrays, snorkeling, and even running a 5K!

Castaway Cay also has a few stores that sell exclusive merchandise, souvenirs to remember your great time there.

Disney Dream Review Overall Thoughts
A Disney cruise is a unique and magical experience for all ages. With world-class entertainment, delicious food, and a variety of activities to choose from, there’s something for everyone.
Pros
- Top-notch food and entertainment – A Disney cruise is amazing due to the delicious food and top-notch entertainment. We were blown away by all the activities the Disney Dream had to offer.
- Magical atmosphere – I can’t express in words how magical it is, the excellent service, and the magical touches everywhere. We were sad when the cruise ended and are looking forward to going on another one soon.
- Family-friendly activities – This is the part that I love most, I love creating memories with my family on vacation and I think Disney excels at this.
Cons
- Can be expensive – There is no doubt you will pay for magic. These cruises are costly, but I believe you get a lot for your money. They always exceed my expectations.
- Can be crowded, especially during peak season – This is one thing I don’t love about cruising on Disney, but if you get a family balcony room and plan your expectations accordingly, I think you can still have a magical time.
Would I recommend a Disney cruise
Absolutely! Disney Cruises are a great way to create lasting memories with your family and friends. It does cost a little extra but you are getting a lot in return for the extra upfront cost. My whole family loves cruising but by far their favorite line is Disney Cruise Line.
